"This cd may be a No Doubt cover project, but man-it is some of the hardest hitting, wall of reverb surf I have heard from a modern band in quite a while. I had Jetpack's "Planet Reverb" and expected the same more or less. Much heavier than Jetpack's other cd, this one has fast picking like Dick Dale at his best and drum breaks all in just the opening track. There are some slow numbers too, like the ND hit, "Just a Girl" done as a slow dance piece like Johnny and Santo's, "Sleepwalk". There's a Byrds inspired piece rocked out on what must be a Rickenbacker 12 string and fuzz bass here and there. I have not heard fuzz bass on a recording for a long time. If you think real surf rock is Jan & Dean or the Beach Boys you have it confused with surf ballads. This is the real stuff: hard hitting, reverb drenched, and ruled by the guitar. This is so good, Jetpack makes the fact that these are ND songs almost incidental! I only know half of these songs from the radio, but love this album for what it is by itself."
