CD ReviewsJetboy are heard once again! ANTHONY CONIGLIO | u.s.a | 01/25/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Since their two albums are out of print and sold poorly, they have never acheived what they deserved. this album which is a recording made by them back in 1986 and didnt see relese till perris records released it not to long ago. this album shows them raw, loud, punkish.glamish, and dripping with energy. really if you like them stick with this album. not their studio recordings which were too polished and stripped of the raw factor this album has. I love 80's glam metal and glad i bough this dont know why anyone would hate them. buy it if you love glam, punk, or pure energy rock'n' roll!" Early work from the most underrated "hair band" ever Gary Young | Tucson, AZ USA | 06/18/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "Jetboy's "A Day in the Glamourous Life" is a collection of demos the band recorded just after signing their first record deal. Ultimately, Jetboy recorded only 2 official albums before calling it quits in the early 90's. Thanks to the good people at Perris Records, we get to hear some great unreleased material that would otherwise be unheard.
The songs on "A Day in the Glamourous Life" were recorded within the same studio session, so there's a consistant feel throughout the disc. The songs included here were originals that the band had previosly been playing in the clubs. They're not as polished as the work they did on their official albums, but the energy level is high. If you couldn't get enough of Jetboy from their 2 official albums, then this disc was released with you in mind. If you've never heard the band before, this may not be the place to start. Seek out their albums "Feel the Shake" and "Damned Nation". If those albums get your blood pumping, then get this one next. It's like a dessert after a delicious meal." |
