"This set comes from an English label,"Ace" records. These cuts are either alternate takes or raw tracks that were used to get vocals from,or to overdub from and are from two MCA releases from the early 1980's after theKiller almost left this world forever due to a ruptured stomach. These cuts have overdubbed guitar solos on them by a guy named Eddie Jones, and if you have,or have heard the original releases these hold up very nicely, and in some cases, are much better than what was releasesd on the albums. When these were first released I remember Jerry Lee being very displeasedwith the producer,Ron Chauncey. After hearing how these cuts could have been approached, and at least in Jerry's reading of them were,I now understand his disparaging remarks towards Mr. Chauncey. This set tries to ROCK and ROLL,too bad it wasn't allowed to do so. The country tunes are honkey tonk at its best, all in all,an interesting look at the impact that varying production viewpoints have, and how little control the artist sometimes has on how their artistry gets used,or in some cases, abused."
