"There was a burst of time when Jerry Lee was just getting out of the dog house after the scandalization of his marriage to Myra Gale. Captured on this CD are two performances, one in Birmingham and one in Houston, where you get the full Jerry Lee Lewis experience, not just the music tracks, but the killer addressing his audience, philosophizing, talking about his links with the people who first did the music, and then he and the Memphis beats performing.
That is really the best of what JLL offers, is an ioverall experience not just his music, but his mind and the way he ties to gether RB, western swing, country, gospel, and blues and white rock and roll all together. The other recording in this series advertised on these pages is his great concert at the Star Club in Hamburg where the Beatles first blossomed and where killer was acclaimed.
It is sad there is no recording of what truly was one of the greatest life shows ever, the joint appearance of JLL and Little Richard on a British Rock show as part of the European leg of the tour (I think it was either Top of the Pops or Ready Steady Go) which sent the audience into true riot dimensions.
Anyway, I have been listening to these performances (which used to be out on two different records and cassettes)for about 25 years. I hope to list 25 more!"
I saw this show live !

"I saw this show live at the Whiteland Barn in Whiteland Indiana on a Sunday night sometime in 1961or62.The "Barn" was the hottest thing going at the time. Because Indiana was a "dry" state on Sundays and we always stocked up the night befor for the dance I met for the first time,Jerry Lee,and a girl he introduced as his sister;Sherry Lee.we drank whisky for awhile talked and laughted around. Then it was show time.It was one of the best concerts that I have ever seen. The play list contains some of the best tunes of the period, the energy of jerry lee that night was pure insanity. If you want to hear the killer on top of his game, buy this CD and turn in up real loud."

"This live set came on the heels of THE GREATEST live show,JLL's Live at the STARCLUB several months earlier. This set DOES ROCKNROLL ,make no mistake!! Hi HEEL SNEAKERS is the show stopper for my money, the entire set moves nicely along,Jerry gives credit to all those he covers and everytime I hear a version of Charlie Rich's Who Will the Next Fool BE,I think of Jerry's intro to it from this set, they don;t make em like this anymore,in fact, few ever have. You gotta have this one in your collection,JLL fan.or not."
