1989 Album

"This was the second big album for Jenny Morris in Australia (1989), although she had earlier hits in her home country New Zealand. The reason I tried to track down the album was that it is now out of print in Australia and I thought Amazon might have it through their marketplace. I was unaware that the album had been released internationally and has been given a completely different cover to the one in Australia. I prefer the Australian B&W cover which makes it look more classy, whereas the shot of her in the pink dress makes it look like a cheap album. I ordered this CD anyway (despite the cover) and when it arrived I noticed a slightly different tracklisting to the local version. I was disappointed to see that my fav song "Saved me" (original version) had been removed and replaced with the UK shake mix of this song (which is inferior). Aside from that, there is another song removed and replaced with a completely different song. On the positive side, the CD includes "You I Know" from the previous album as well as another hit. I'm assuming all of these changes were to make the album more marketable in the United Kingdom or USA.
I've since found the original Australian CD in a second hand shop so now have both versions of the CD. When I get around to it, I will put the Australian album cover up on Amazon customer images.
Overall, SHIVER is an impressive album and contains her most requested song "Little Little" about her then pregnancy. Beautiful track. Other highlights include the Paul Kelly penned "Street of Love".
Definitely worth owning."
