CD ReviewsIn The Mix The Funkmeister | San Francisco, CA USA | 03/28/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "This hard-to-find album/cassette/CD is excellent. The blend of pop, funk and smooth jazz makes for a excellent listening experience. The vocals of Karyn White and Michael Jeffries enhance the great work of Jeff Lorber, whose versatility with different sounds but with his trademark keyboard sound is so evident. Great work!" Finally on CD SBLove99 | New Orleans, La. | 02/26/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "I always wondered why this record was never on CD. It is probably one of Jeff Lorber's best recordings. A nice mix of instrumentals and vocal tracks. Being that this is a recording from the late '80s, it may sound a little dated compared to today's standard, but they're still good. This is the CD that introduced Karyn White to the world before she went on to record her solid debut with the song 'Superwoman' that became a hit for her; Michael Jeffries also does some solid vocals on the uptempo title track and stands out on 'Keep on loving her'. The instrumental tracks are best though, particularly Sand Castles with the late George Howard, Jamaica & Kristen. Jeff lorber seems to be making a comeback on the scene, so maybe this is why they finally found this one on the shelf and put it on CD. Anyway, it's a great addition if you're looking for classic 'smooth jazz'." Truely A Masterpeice Leroy A. Joseph Jr. | LAs Vegas, NV | 04/11/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Private Passion Is One Of Mr. Lorber's Best Work. It's A Shame That It's Out Of Print. I Had The Oppertunity To Experience Jeff Live Featuring The Lovely Karyn White. When They Preformed "Back In Love", I Fell In Love And Became A Follower Of Jeff Ever Since.Anyone Who Loves Smooth Jazz Will Certinly Enjoy The Entire Album, "Jamacia" And "Midnight Snack" Is Funky, "Keep On Lovin' Her" Is Smooth And "Kristen'" Is Off The Hook!!! This Masterpeice Is Worth The Investment."
