"Hi ~~ I Preodered my copy of New Antiques back in March and Mr Mailman brought it to me on April 23rd. I am loving hitting the replay on these songs, and getting to know them one by one. Jeff has such a unique fresh way of bringing his songs together. His accoustics, vocals, harmonizing and lyrics really have a way of connecting with me. Hapless Sky starts this cd off with a foot tapping, humming along vibe. Jeff worked with Gerry Beckley of America on this and I am loving each new gem that comes from this working together. This one shines nicely. Next up is Waiting for the Mail, I love Jeff's gentle vocals and the gentle strums, the rich deep accoustics and how they set the mood for this neat visual song. Jeff has such a neat way of bringing a visual in soo clear in his songs. Carbon,is a neat hard edged song, that will carry you nicely. Jeff's way with the lyrics and vocals in this song, really set the mood for this sentimental rocker. Hank Linderman joins Jeff on this song, this always makes for a nice touch. Morning Til Noon, has a nice quaintness about it, I am reminded of Gordon Lightfoot's song Sundown when I listen to this song. Jeff's way with his lyrics on this, can have you seeing the first light of day coming in the blinds and smelling that cup of coffee that gets your day going. Hmmmm, At The Depot, is a bit different than most of Jeff's songs, kinda a rock\blue grass twist, it is nicely put together musicly and will have you tapping your foot and wishing you were there for this jammin session. Don't Mind the Rain is one of Jeff's softer sided songs, kinda a piano ballad. I always love when Jeff sings about the rain, and his metamorphic ways of turning this visual into a mental vibe. I enjoy getting to hear Jeff add his harmonica and his doodododoodooo's to add a nice rounded touch to this song. Coldwinds is a nice rocker, it picks you up in an instance and carries you off with its deep rich accoustics and Jeff's vocals and harmonizing is very affective in this song. There is a soft bridge in this song, and I like the way it completes the frenquency of this gem. On Force of a Smile, Jeff once again shows his softer side. Beth Campbell joins Jeff on this song and she adds a nice touch to complete this sentimental blurr. Next up is Morris Air, and this lighthearted, foot tapping instrumental will catch your curiousity. I know it did mine, it has me wondering just why Jeff named this song Morris Air, it paints a nice visual of being on a sailboat with the sail set full tilt and feeling the warm ocean breeze hitting me in the face. This song will pick up your spirits and have you wanting to hum & dance along. This Frequency ~ Wow this song has captured me nicely, I love everything about it, Jeff really nails this song, his vocals effectively carry out his lyrics, that allows me to really feel this Frequency Visual, I love the way he added the part that sounds like magnified guitar picking along with the lyrics "A good night sleep is all I need to save me from This Frequency, the give and take, the end in sight, the evening burning in my eyes" and the soft vocal harmonizing that ends the song instantly makes me want to hit the replay on it's magic. I love getting lost in this songs Magic for sure. Jeff definitely can be compared to Dan Fogelberg, he has that same kind of Storytelling, Visual Setting Magic in his songs. Coffee at Midnight is such a lovely example of this magic. I loved Jeff's vocals, and his Lyrics are sooo right in tune with this Song Visual. If you haven't heard any of Jeff's music yet, I suggest you treat yourself to this New Antiques magic. Great job Jeff, You are spoiling us nicely with each new cd, I look forward to hearing more from You. You definitely are a Hidden Gem that deserves to shine brighter. Shine on Jeff! Take care, see ya, Nancy :)"
