"Born in America but raised in Mexico, Jeane Manson is a multi-talented entertainer but when it came to recording music, French was the language that she mainly chose to sing in although she has also recorded in Spanish and English.
The recordings to be found in this compilation are all in French. They were made between 1976 and 1983 and probably fall into the category of easy listening, but the final track (Dis jaimas goodbye) is an exciting cover of Bob Marley's No woman no cry. Jeane's choice of songs clearly goes way beyond easy listening.
Many of the songs appear to be French originals, but there are stunning covers of I don't know how to love him (which she sings in flawless English, beautifully) and Amazing Grace, a song I always enjoy, but sounding fresh and exciting in French (track 12 - Ce n'est qu-un au-revoir).
You don't need to know any French to enjoy this - I don't understand a word of French, but this a welcome addition to my French collection."
