"Jean-Jacques Goldman is a "Super Star" for the last 2 generations in France, each one of his albums is a major hit. "Entre Gris Clair et Gris fonce" was released in 1989, and features a series of wonderful ballads, such as "La-bas" or "Il changeait la vie" which tells the story about how a shoemaker can perform his art for the benefit of others. The song "Elle a fait un bebe toute seule" is one of my personnal favorite, with its banjo, telling the story of how hard it is to be a single mother. Peur de rien blues is a 6-minute must-hear !!!"
I LOVE this album!

"I bought this album as a double-length cassette in Toulouse, France in 1988, and I played it until I was afraid that I would stretch it out and break it, so then I started copying it! How happy am I to have it on CD!!!
The songs on the two disks are almost reflections of each other--similar themes, with the first disk having high production values/stuff going on and the second being pretty minimalist (sometimes just him and a guitar or piano). Similar themes doesn't mean that it's boring, though--there's lots of musical variety, beautiful lyrics...it's great!"
