"This jazz cd is truly music for all kitchens. Wayne Henderson's compositions are peppered with various styles of music to wet the appetite of all music lovers. The Crusaders outdid themselves with featured artists, such as, Dionne Warwick, Bobby Womack, Lee Oscar and a cast of many more. This cd will put a smile on your face and it just might make you hunger for some Louisiana cooking with jams like, Mumbo Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, Jam-balaya, Peachy Pie and Catfish Mardi Gras. The cd lives up to its title by serving up Louisiana flavored jazz with side dishes of pop, blues, rap and soul. If you are a Crusaders fan as I am, this is a must have for your collection. Bon apetite!"

"I'm probably not to be considered an unbiased reviewer - I wrote the liner notes for this album and worked closely with Wayne Henderson and Wilton Felder during the making of "Louisiana Hot Sauce". But that having been said, this is still one of my favorite albums. The groove flows freely between Wayne and Wilton's licks, and I especially enjoyed Bobby Lyle's piano work, as well as the vocals by Choc'late and Keb'Mo (although all of the vocals are stellar). And what can I say about Ready Teddy McQuiston on "Catfish Mardi Gras" but Damn! He's hotter than cayenne pepper!"
