"I recently acquired the vinyl album box set of this concert and it is a beautiful set. It is a 3 LP set. This CD is only part of the second and third LP in the set. The first LP is the Jazz At The Philharmonic All Stars. The second LP is the Oscar Peterson Trio and the Gene Krupa Trio. The third LP is Ella Fitzgerald. It's too bad they didn't release the entire set on a 2 CD set. I can't comment on the concert itself, since I'm just discovering it myself. From what I've heard so far, it is a remarkably clean recording. The liner notes, which are extensive, indicate that this was a very well received concert of some historical significance. It was one of the first American Jazz tours to Japan after World War II.
