Synopsis

Album Description
Refresh your spirit with soothing mantra music with an original India- meets-Celtic sound that creates a nourishing vibe for yoga, relaxation or the healing arts. Radiance is produced once again by Steve Gordon (Buddha Lounge, Drum Prayer) and features top-notch global guest artists such as Deva Priyo (Lost at Last) on Spanish Guitar and Sarod, Vince McClellan on Bansuri, Native American and Celtic Flutes and Nishya Calkin-Godfrey on Cello. Lakshmi sings with the deep inner peace that comes from many years of leading kirtans throughout the country. Lakshmi's song writing is her best yet, with many beautiful melodies that will leave you with a tranquil glow.

CD Reviews

Om purnam is Brilliant!
MellowMama | 05/09/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Of course the mantra lyrics are full of spirit and life but the accompanying music is fantastic! There is just about every perfect sound I could think of on here and the arrangements are striking. It sings to my heart. Definitely check out this album and that song in particular."
Mellow and Meditative Album
No1Crush | Alberta, Canada | 06/16/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Jaya Lakshmi's 4th solo album "Radiance" is her most gentle, mellow and meditative, similar to Goldfrapp's "Seventh Tree" album. The electronic and uptempo beats from her previous albums and her work with Lost At Last/One At Last are mostly absent (with the exception of the opening track "Om Purnam", which starts off quietly, but builds up into a crescendo of drumbeats), but the warmth, sincerity and soulful passion still remain. The arrangements are thoughtful, and Jaya Lakshmi's distinctive voice remains elegant. Standout tracks include: "Om Purnam", "Sita Ram", "Mukunda Madhava", "Jai Ambe" and "Om Tara"."
