Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda are Oregon-based musical artists in the genre of mantra music. In just over five years together, they have released four albums with Sounds True as well as four others independently. They tour nationally and internationally, holding their own events and retreats. Their music is intended to initiate deep healing and open the heart to joy, sharing the grace they have been given through their partnership. Inspired by yoga and the spiritual teachings of India, their ?prayer-formances? consist of kirtan chanting (call and response singing), mantra repetition, and original songs blended with English, Sanskrit, and Gurmukhi as well as ?Kirtronica? (kirtan and electronica fusion). Weaving guitar, harmonium, bansuri flutes, vocal harmonies (and dance beats when performing Kirtronica), they create an angelic sonic field?a rare and powerful expression of the divine feminine and masculine, dancing in harmony
