"This album is proof that there are hugely talented people out there that are relatively unknown. Jason Smith is a gifted composer with tremendous passion, vision and direction, as well as being a sensitive journeyman musician driven to produce art. He has here teamed up with two legendary figures (who besides many other projects, both play on Allan Holdsworth's "16 Men of Tain) to construct a unique timeless piece of work. A drug in a musical sense that I am compelled to listen to on a regular basis. The tunes are so well thought out, and I find myself singing the well placed, charismatic and I-beam strong lead lines and motifs which I already know by heart, and you wait to hear them, like a tension- release. In the liner notes for this CD it reads "Every so often we hear an album that moves us. Touches us so deep that it lasts for years to come. I've made this record with those hopes and ideals in my heart." I completely agree with that precise and eloquent statement. I look forward to hearing more of Jason's very original concept, and add to that I hope in the future he get's the recognition for his work that he so richly deserves. I am a musician myself familiar with all the greats and this album rates extremely high in my book. It is one of the most refreshing and original new albums I have heard in quite a while.
