CD Reviews"I Feel Pretty," Indeed! 05/13/1998 (4 out of 5 stars) "It's New-Yorky! Sitar, vibes, and irony come together to create an evil, post-lounge atmosphere that doesn't have to yell to get your attention. Some of the lyrics might be pretentious, but the tone Jarboe uses to express them deflates any attempt to take them seriously. Some of the songs, like "Warm Liquid Event," are captivatingly beautiful, with spooky singing bottled within perfectly crafted music. Don't miss the cover of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "I Feel Pretty" - they take it places it was never meant to go."
