I don't know what went wrong here. Janiva has some great albums but this just wasn't one of them. Start out with her "Do I Move You" album then her current "What Love Will Do" then for her own killer take on Robt Johnson's style get "Bury Him At The Crossroads"

Blues Ain't Pretty, But Don't Let That Stop You

"This is without question the best CD from Janiva Magness. Her voice has always been great, but on previous albums, we've had to listen to guest vocalists on a few songs. This CD is all Janiva, and that is good news. She easily handles the up-tempo tracks such as Blus Ain't Pretty and I'm Gonna Play The Honky Tonks as well as the slow, sad, and mellow songs like I Don't Know and St. Gabriel. In addition, the lead guitars and rythm section complement her nicely. This is a very enjoyable blues CD."

"This is my first Janiva Magness music purchase. There is an enormous amount of passion in her voice and music. I love this CD, and can't wait to listen to some of her other material. My favorite song is St. Gabriel, but I also like every song on this CD, which is quite unusual for me. If you like emotional, passionate blues, I highly recommend this CD."

"I have written a review about Janiva Magness concerning one of her other CD's.
Janiva is incredible,
She is the Etta James of today.
Buy her music it's a win, win enjoyable music trip!!,
She and Etta are the best current female blues artists of today.
I bought all of her CD's after hearing just her first one she is so excellent.
When her CD' comes kick back and enjoy, and buy more than one while you are at it.
You will be buying more anyway after you listen to any single one of hers you purchase, So save the effort and buy others of hers do it now!!!!"
