"Words fail me when trying to describe the awe one gets after listening to this singer. Live or on Disc few can match Jane in Talent, musicality, or beauty of tone. What a blessing she is to those who love opera. I Love this CD and all the wonderful excerpt featured here. I would love to hear a complete recording of every opera sung from here. It is so refreshing to hear the Egyptian Helen sung so beautifully, listen to how she soars over the orchestra, and listen to how easily her voice manages the high notes. AHHH! How enchanting, and the excerpt from Guntram WOW! . And then she tops it off with an excerpt from a different type of Strauss opera Arabella. This is how Strauss should be sung. Forget Ljuba, Birgit, or Hildegard Jane is your woman!"

"It is such a blessing that singers like Jane Eaglen, Debbie Voigt and Ben Heppner have come to the foregroung as the top Strauss, and Wagner interpreters. It is about time that we start hearing some real singing in this repetoire. The last few decades have been unable to present us with singers who sing the big roles with correct technique, who do more than scream and bark their way through Wagner and Strauss. Eaglen is one of these new artist who employs an italianate technique to sing these operas they way they were meant to be sung, beatifully. This CD demonstates this beatifull voice supported by a sturdy technique. BRAVA JANE! And thank you for reminding us that Wagner, and Strauss don't have to be screamed to be sung well."
What an incredible voice.

"I wasn't even a fan of opera when I first heard this woman sing (Or maybe I should say goddess). My brother took me to see her in Tristan und Isolde and I was immediately made a fan of opera, but mostly of Jane Eaglen. I have since aquired just about every CD available that is graced by this incredible talent, and I must say that this CD is maybe my favorite. I love the arias from Idomeneo, and have never heard them sung better. I love her Egyptian Helen, it is so much better than Leontyne Price recording. What an incredible talent. I wish everyone could hear her sing in person, but if you don't get the chance to, you will not be dissapointed by this CD."
OH MY GOD !

"I am at a loss for words when I try to describe the beauty and power of Jane Eaglen's singing. She is unquestionably the finest dramatic soprano I've heard. She combines the warmth and "golden" tone of Flagstad's lower and mid range with the rock solid, crystaline tone of Nilsson's top range; and does it all with seeming ease and absolutely no sign of strain. This disc is just another example of her brillance, just buy it, don't ask questions. I was lucky enough to see she and Ben Heppner perform Tristan und Isolde twice this season at the Met and all I can say is, no matter how good she sounds on records, she is a force of nature when you see her live. At the end of each night, as the audiance sat in stunned silence before exploding in to applause, she sounded as though she could have simply started at the beginning and sung it all over again. When is Sony going to wise up and finally record some complete operas with this brillant woman."

"It has been said that Jane Eaglen does not a voice but is rather a force of Nature. That is evident on this CD. Her "Zweiter Brautnacht" is the best recorded version ever. Her Salome aria here make you wish she would record the complete opera. Her Arabella aria is full of nuance, and energy. Her Mozart arias are all beatifully sung. While recordings cannot completely capture the large voice they are still effective. But this CD and every one she has ever made, there is simply no reason not to."
