"This band has the action and the drive! This collection of classics has a timeless quality that brings you back to classic lines and sounds that still obtain the thing today. I rate this a 5 and encourage anyone who is interested in the blues sound of James Montgomery or the tradition set down by him to BUY THIS CLASSIC!"

"I was very fortunate to have been there when the boys were rehersing there first album. I'm listening to it now for the fist time in 3 or 4 years. It's a cassette taken from my original vinyl (very scratchy) album. If you don't know James and the boys, get this disc. That is, if you can. Seems it's hard to find (I can't even get one). James is the consumate performer and musician. In '93 I saw him in Sebastian Florida and was totally blown away. He'll always be my hero. Give a listen and he'll be yours too."

"and now I've found it. Having lived and experienced the Boston bar scence in the 60's, 70's and 80's, James and the boys caught my ear immediately. While competing with some of the greatest bar bands ever- J. Giels, Aerosmith, Duke and the Drivers, Woodies Truckstop and later the Cars- they always put up and made everyone shut-up. A great hard driving, hard rocking, blues type band, their 1st record(my age is showing) was a smash. Pete Bell rocked the house with his bluesy, rocking licks. This cd is a must for a bar band freak. Hope to see their subsequent releases" High Roller" and the self titled " James Mongomery Band" as a rerelease as well. Rock on James........"
