"Back in 1972, I had been a big James Last fan for several years, then I got my hands on this album! WOWEE!!! I had heard many great instrumentals by Hansi, but this was the first vocal effort with choir, that I really loved. This remastered album was originally titled, "Love Must be the Reason". This should not be confused with the "original" recording, "With Compliments", a breakthrough effort by Hansi. But this vocal recording has all the best of James Last and his orchestra! The brass, the bass guitar, and the STRINGS, in the background. Every song on the original album was superb! I have gotten the CD version of the album, and I love it as much as that day I picked it up in 1972. My favorites are, "It's Going to Take Some Time", "Close to you" and from the "original" album of the same name, "Endless Journey". This is super listening material, very romantic, very relaxing, very much "Hansi". A wonderful addition to anyone's collection! I LOVE IT!!!!"
This one converted me, for life!!:-)

"The time is fall, 1970, in the record shop, comes another new James Last recording. As a casual fan, with a few L.P.'s of James Last in my collection, I figured this to be another "nice" recording: BOY, was I WRONG!!!This album in effect, converted me from Bert Kaempfert as my number one artist to Hansi Last, and I have never looked back. What is it about this record? It has a magical lure, the most beautiful violins I have ever heard, and I have heard them all, from Faith to Mantaovani. In this recording, there are absolutely spectacular tracks, notably "Luciana", "Endless Journey", "Adanca", "The last Guest is Gone" (now retitled, "Music from Across the Way"), "Tango", and "The Pearl Fishers". These tracks alone, make this a must buy for the listener of great instrumental music! You know? I have gone through 2 L.P.'s, and now have the CD. And you know? This recording, sounds as good and refreshing today, as 30 years ago. It is still in my top 5 Hansi recordings! ENJOY vintage James Last with this GEM!!!!"
