Synopsis
Product Description Pick up this 1995 Black Top release for some cool tones and tunes from master harpist James 'Icepick' Harman and band, who survived, as Harman describes in his hilarious original liner notes, a sonic invasion from a neighboring Van Halen video shoot which was interfering with the great 'tile tone' the guys were getting from putting their amps on top of the toilets. Their solution? Duct-taping a mop and broom handle together and shoving a sofa cushion up the air vent causing the audio bleed! So, believe us when we say that this is rough n ready blues. CD ReviewsVan Halen was there too! Dr.D.Treharne | Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom | 01/05/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "What you see is what you hear from the James Harman Band, and this album is no exception.Quite apart from the part played by the main man there's some excellent guitar playing from Robby Eason.Leaon and Campbell the rhythm section keep it driving along, and the album benefits from some very strong material, all written by Harman himself. Personal favourites are the title track, the two excellent but different "Four Questions","Cold tile floor" and the superb "Lock Doctor", which if the sleeve notes are to be believed was written there and then after following a locksmiths van! The album is also visited by a number of guests scattered around the album, of whom Norman Harris on Hammond and Fred Kaplan on acoustic piano deserve special mention for their contributions.Just about everything you've come to expect from a James Harman Band album - but with the added bonus of the excellent story in the sleevenotes about Van Halen did actually play a part in the making of this album!"
