"This cd blows me away. Take one part Coltrane, one part Miles, a little bit of Tjader, a little more of Jimmy Smith, Milt Jackson, and Monk. Now throw in some Roni Size, Grooverider, Ronnie Jordan, Krust, Theivery Corporation, D.J. Krush, D.J. Shadow, Massive Attack and maybe a splash of Portishead for good measure. Now, put it all in a blender and liquify it and you've got the sound of this cd.In short, this is smooth s**t. It pulses through your system and infects your very soul. James is a bit more refined than most of his D&B counterparts. Listening to it, I would almost say he is a bit more jazz-ier oriented, but then the turntabilists come in and mix it all up.He definitely has a sound that surpasses much of the D&B out there, which sounds as if some guy got totally cranked up and headed straight for the nearest Roland Drum Machine: Hmmmm...let's see...BPM's....mmmm...how about 350? Faaahgetta 'bout it -- you won't find that here.If you love seriously smooth, jazzed out D&B, bordering on straight acid-jazz/ubiquity sound, then dig this one. It doesn't come much better."
