"UK's prototype Speed Metal band Jaguar is captured here live in front of small but wild Dutch audience in December 17, 1982.
Recording is from soundboard, originally recorded in c-cassette I suspect. Sound quality changes from fair to good. The first song "Dutch Connection" has the most noticeable changes, probably due original tape's ageing. But after that sound stays pretty solid. Instrument & vocals separation is very good.
This CD smells and sounds dirty and sweaty, just like it should. A true live club experience. Siesta Club was a small club, stage only a foot high, so audience is right on the noses of the boys. And that gives the special feeling. "Faster, louder!!!!" the audience scream and vocalist Paul Merrell agites them more: "You want it faster and louder?!!!". According to liner notes, the end of the show was total chaos when audience got on the stage and the boys couldn't get out of there. Rock 'n roll, man!
CD includes all the tracks from their "Back Street Woman" 7" single (1981) and "Axe Crazy" 7" single (1982) as well as most tracks from a bit dissappointing Power Games album. Last song is a thrashing Speed Metal version of The Move's "California Man" (originally 1972).
This CD is strictly limited to 1000 copies, so get it while you can! Hats off to Majestic Rock for this release."
