"And here is yet another new recording of another never before recorded Offenbach opera-bouffe! Full of the adictive type of music that you can expect from offenbach. If you too are a fellow offenbachanite than you can not pass owning this bouffe from Offenbachs early career (1856). As to be expected there is not a boring piece in the entire bouffe plus there are delightful highlights from some less heard and some entirely unheard operas of Offenbachs on here as well.
The preformancs is sparkling and lacks nothing. Completely orchestrated and sung with superb excellence, this album will be played many times before you feel satisfied that you've gotten your fill. From the delightful patter of Mais Autant Qu'un Prince, the delicous overture, and J'ai z'un million you wont be able to stop yourself.
The albums booklet is both in english and french and comes with a complete libretto and a delightful history of the piece. Plus on a final note I'd like to mention that this recording is put together by Jean-Christophe Keck, the very person who brought us a complete version of Offenbachs 'Die Rheinnixen' and the original version of 'la Grande Duchess de Gerolstien' recorded by Marc Minkowski."
