"This cd is a fantastic testimony to an incredible artist. Jackie Jones is a singer whose sound is wonderfully pure and rich. She never overdoes it or underdoes it, each song is just right. The selection of songs here is right on the mark, a great combination of standards and more recent numbers. Her rendition of "Some Other Time" knocks me out in particular. I have had the good fortune to hear her sing in person on a number of ocasions, and this cd is as close as you can get to the experience of hearing her perform live. One of the qualities I love about her singing is how she massages a lyric without ever feeling contrived, like she is being overly dramatic. Her sound is always supple and full, yet nuanced and sensitive. I can't wait for her next cd. She is in the lineage of Vaughn, Fitzgerald, Wilson, etc. but, in my opinion, she is actually an improvement on those icons. You will wear this out once you hear it!!"
