"Instrumental surfing music and rock & roll, JAPANESE style! From their white tuxedos to the packaging design, everything about this item seems to scream "50's RETRO!". One gets the feeling that if a band were playing a saki joint the night Godzilla first wandered into downtown Tokyo, they'd look and sound JUST like these guys. I have a growing number of 45's by this trio, who seem to revel in high speed excitement and making difficulty with the English language a virtue. This CD apparently started life as a pair of 45s, and is made up mostly of covers of popular oldies which they steamroll right over into their own style. Included: "Let's Dance" (Chris Montez), "Low Hide" (Link Wray's "Rawhide"-- I SAID they had terrible English!), "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" (Chuck Berry) and "You're Sixteen" (Johnny Burnette-- and Ringo). The latter is a "bonus truck" (1 of 2-- I SAID they had bad-- oh never mind!) If this doesn't bring a smile to your face, you need a sense of humor!I've found 6 singles so far; but for those who only have access to stores with CDs, also seek out LOCKED IN TO SURF, VOL.1 ("Cotton Pickin'"), TURBAN RENEWAL ("Pharaoh A Go Go"), BIKINI WORLD ("Scalpin' Party") and OUR FAVORITE TEXAN ("Thunder Reef") for more musical madness."
