Product DescriptionOn his latest release Songs, Jack Tempchin continues to mine the country folk rock movement he helped define alongside The Eagles, Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther and others. Tempchins influence was pivotal, as two songs he wrote ended up on the best selling album of the 20th century, The Eagles: Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975. Peaceful Easy Feeling was penned exclusively by Jack; Already Gone was co-written with Robb Strandlund. Tempchin also wrote Slow Dancing for Johnny Rivers, and has had songs covered by George Jones, Glen Campbell, Tanya Tucker, Emmylou Harris and Trisha Yearwood. Currently, Jack has two cuts on the new Eagles CD, Long Road Out Of Eden. Fast forward to 2008, and it all falls under Roots/Americana: the broad, albeit apt description of Songs. Included is his own gritty version of the hit co-written with Glenn Frey for the Miami Vice TV show, Smuggler's Blues. As Jack says, 'Recording this album was a fantastic adventure. I spent a year in the studio making up songs, jamming and recording it all just to get in the mood... Then we got down to business. All the songs are very different from each other. I hope you enjoy the journey.'
