"Jack Lukeman is trying to make his in roads here in the states. An amazing voice coupled with great versatility. I only rate the album four stars because I don't think any album could do justice to hearing him live (if you ever get the chance go see him! ). From powerful ballads to songs full of soul. I was a doubter when I was first told about Lukeman but now I'm a believer."
What a voice!

"I have seen Jack L play many a time, but the one that stands out in my mind was a 'freebie'.
I was looking at the music in a shop called Celtic Note records on Nassau Street in Dublin one Saturday lunchtime when the owners cleared one end of the shop saying that someone was about to perform. At which point Jack L turned up with his "axe-man" David Constantine (both a little worse for wear after having played the Olympia the night before). I thought that his 'delicate' state might not make for a great performance. I was so, so wrong. He played about 4 or 5 tracks of this album and they were fantastic. I bought it there and then and he kindly signed it for me.
His voice has incredible range and I only hope he gets the international recognition he deserves."
Excellent CD from a wonderful performer

"Jack Lukeman has a large hard core of fans in Ireland who go to all his gigs, and buy all his records. This fan base comes from all ages, and both before and after the gigs, people will go up to complete strangers in order to discuss how wonderful he is, and how there is nobody like him. He has the most beautiful voice, with a large vocal range, can go both deep and soft.
The songs on this particular CD are fantastic - it is my favourite Jack L record. My favourite song on this CD is the dreamy 'When the Moon is High'. The fan's typical favourites are the rousing 'Georgie Boy' and 'Ode to Ed Wood (boys and girls', which is typically performed with a feather boa. Jack L has recently finished a fourteen week, five night a week residency in Spirit nightclub in Dublin, which was packed out every night, and a DVD of the show has been released, which is also well worth checking out. The residency featured the songs of Jacques Brel, as strong influence on Jack Lukeman, as can be seen on this CD."

This guy has the most amazing voice. Oh, and I am one of those Irish fans, but unfortunately, living in UK and have never seen him live, but would give anything to be able to to so......"

"Back in the late 90's, my husband and I used to walk to Wheelans in Dublin to see Jack L. His face was painted on the side of the pub for years. Metropolis Blue came out just before we moved to Seattle-ironically, the original cover has a picture of a Seattle freeway at night. That's the copy we have. This album is amazing, and even though we have a copy of every cd he's ever released, this is our favorite. A true classic. We saw him once in Seattle, in a tiny dive bar. He blew everyone away. Just amazing. He's one of the things I miss most about Ireland, but I'm secretly glad he's still unknown and a true artist."
