"I just about wore the grooves off this album when I was a kid, came back to it as an adult and loved it just as much. Highlights include his haunting version of the love song "If I Were a Carpenter," tall-tale "Tennessee Stud," one of his more lyrical rambles about a house he stayed in in New Orleans, "913 Greens," and working songs like "The Night Herding Song" and "Rock Island Line." The production on this is a little bit more slick than on some of his albums, and his voice is in just beautiful shape."
