A delightful album

"This album, recorded in 1979 in Henry Wood Hall, London, is an absolute delight, not only because of Bach's ingenious compositions, but because of Schiff's interpretation. His style definitely uses the full spectrum of the piano and does not try to immitate a harpsichord. The mixing on this album also gives these concertos a distinctive flavor: the piano is somewhat toned down relative to the orchestra. I highly recommend this album as one of the most brilliant interpretations of these impressive works."
Another Excellent Schiff Recording

"Schiff is an outstanding interpreter of Bach. His performances here are precise, elegant, and thoughtful. He plays in a way that makes him a medium for communicating the music rather than drawing attention to his technical abilities, which are considerable. This is virtuosity of a high order."
