"Gustav Leonhardt is one of the greatest musicians of this - or perhaps any - era. His performances of Bach's organ works, concentrating on introspective chorale preludes, has the ability to transport you to another world. I would take issue with the previous reviewer of this set. Hurford and Herrick are both fine players, but Leonhardt's musicianship - and knowledge - is on a very different plane entirely. Anyone who wishes to enter the magical world of Bach's most personal music can do well by starting with the present set. The organ is magnificent, the playing exemplary, the recording, good and the music - well no words can convey the standard of Bach's thought. Simply buy it and marvel."
