Superb, extraordinary

"This sampler of what is to be a presentation of the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach is outstanding. Haennsler recordings provides superior technology for this epic. The quality of the performers is generally without peer. Finally, that a Bach scholar in the person of Helmut Rilling is the music director is most consistant with the overall quality, and listening experience. In my 62 years I have purchased for pleasure about a dozen recordings of the St. Matthew's Passion, several excellent but none better. Anyone interested in a possible acquisition of the complete works of J S Bach would do themselves a service to obtain this wonderful and inexpensive sampler."

"As an Bach lower and performer,I was given this sampler when it was released, and found it surprizingly good and varied, and recommend it as a first gift or buy. HMJ."
