Widely regarded as one of the most important compilations of traditional music, George Petrie's Ancient Music of Ireland has provided singers, musicians, and students worldwide with an exhaustive fund of authentic folk airs and dances, faithfully handed down from live music performances in their land of origin, Drawn from Petrie's vast library, the present collection of 18 classic tunes has been arranged for concert piano by leading Irish pianist and composer J.J. Sheridan. A graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, J.J. now lives in the United States, where he tours in his various one man shows, including "The Art of Turlough O'Carolan."
