"This is excellent stage for instrument solo, here oboe, bassoon, two violins, and violin & cello.
Thus, colorful textures are obtained, and the Minuets are smashing!
Different sounds but pleasing and refreshing to listen to, all performed under Anthony Halstead led Hanover Band."
Wonderful Symphonies Concertantes

"The Symphonies Concertantes by the youngest Bach son are always a very enjoyable listen.
On this CD is included the ravishing concertante for Violin and Cello in B-flat. This work had been missing since WWII (having been located in Berlin). Thankfully a musicologist-made copy was tracked down a couple of years ago and now we can all enjoy this concertante that ranks among JC's best.
As to my knowledge this is the only recording in existence of this concertante, as it doesn't seem to have been included in other 'complete' sets - quite a pity."
