"Wow!! This is a great CD. I didn't even know that they had released another album, until I heard "UNDERTOW" on ROSWELL last Monday. This is one band that you really cant get bored with. I mean just listen to it. Soft, melodic, poppy, even semi-jazzy. I have a very broad range of music that I like. I like hard-core industrial music (Ministry, Fear Factory, Pitchshifter) and then I like to realax and listen to "thought provoking" music (Cocteau Twins, Throwing Muses, Dead Can Dance). Ivy is definatly a thought provoking band. Excellent vocals, beautiful keys and guitars, and interesting lyrics. There are a few titles on NAPSTER that I downloaded, and now I'm going to buy this CD because of it. Thanks NAPSTER. Buy this CD and you will enjoy it for years to come."
A sublime follow up....

"to Apartment life. It is a purely beautiful album that just kind of glides over you. Superbly composed from beginning to end, but be warned it is not a high energy CD although there are plenty of great mid-tempo numbers. Standouts include, Undertow, Dissapointed, Edge of the Ocean, I think of You, Lucy doesn't love you, Hideway, oh hell just about the whole damn thing including a really nice jazzy cover of Digging your Scene. Grab a glass of wine sit on your porch, deck, whatever and sit back and enjoy. I couldn't be more pleased with Long Distance."

"What is it about Ivy that makes them so damn appealing? They write songs that verge on lounge music, and Dominique Durand sings like she has no idea what the words mean - but I love it all the same. While this album isn't "Apartment Life" (and what is, really?) it's still fantastic. Horns, hooks, beats abound on this thing, the standouts being the edgy "Blame it On Yourself," the childlike "Worry About You" and the perfect cover of "Digging Your Scene." At times, Ivy is what would happen if the Housemartins, Stereolab, Astrud Gilberto and Everything But the Girl got poured into a sugar cone with extra jimmies. And what could be wrong with that?"
