Potential... But Doesn't Deliver As It Might Have

"The sleeve's portraits in contraposition reflects my earing of this eponymous offering by Ivory. The album opens with a good fuzzed out rocker but also serves up a number of losers with lounge moves.
Rockers like the initial cut, Silver Rains, feature nice edgy fuzz and keyboard interplay; and, Chris Christman's strong vocals validate some critics' comparisons to Jefferson Airplane. Unfortunately, Silver Rains is, by far, the album's best track. Other rockers fail to measure up and tend to render infirm the Airplane comparisons.
In my opinion, the lounge-like ballads don't ear up at all. Numbers like All in My Mind simply detract from what the group had to offer. Ivory is a marginal spin at best... similar offerings such as Yankee Dollar are far better spins.
