"At last Ivan Lins' 1981 "Daquilo Que Eu Sei" is out on CD. Top-notch digital remastering reveals new detail in Gilson Peranzetta's eclectic pop/rock/jazz arrangements. This is neither samba nor bossa nova, but MPB (Musica Popular Brasileiro), akin to the sounds of Milton Nascimento, Caetano Veloso and others. Lins pens ingenious changes, and several songs from his large catalog have become world standards. More than any other Ivan Lins album, "Daquilo Que Eu Sei" puts tasty choral singing up front, with lyrics by longtime collaborator Vitor Martins, who also plays bass on the album. Lins and Peranzetta both play keyboards, with Ivan's catchy hooks supported by Gilson's schooled pianism."
