Product DescriptionAfter their acclaimed Creative Orchestra album, recorded under the direction of Anthony Braxton, the Italian Instabile Orchestra returns to its usual formation to publish 'Totally Gone', their newest chapter, produced in the RAI Radio 3 studios, and curated by Pino Saulo for the prestigious 'Tracce' catalogue. The current ensemble appears to have arrived at a phase of mature relaxation: the sound is lyrical, multicolored, and self-consciously heterogeneous. The repertoire is rich and multifaceted, with compositions based on refined and pleasantly extroverted arrangements. The collective improvisation and individual solos inhabit the compositions with organic fluidity and inspiration, never with indifference. The Orchestra is comprised of seventeen individuals of all ages: from the elder statesmen of Trovesi and Schiaffini, to the central axis represented by Cavallanti, Tononi, Minafra and Actis Dato, to the new blood represented by Maier, Puglisi and Parrini.
