"Irma Thomas is one of those singers that for whatever reason never caught the public's fancy. As in many of these cases, it's too bad, as Irma has a strong voice, and is able to move effortlessly from R & B, to Ballads, to Rock, and Pop.
This live set contains a number of tracks from the studio album that contained her biggest hit "Safe With Me". Anyone who had HBO back in the day, will no doubt remember "Video Jukebox" (several years PRIOR to MTV), and "Safe With Me" was one of the clips they played alot. The studio album was offered direct to the public via commercials on Video Jukebox.
On this live set she offeres songs from the aforementioned stdio album; Safe With Me, Women Left Lonely, and the rockish, Take It Where You Find It.
She also handles covers of Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch (Can't Help It), and Don't Stop.
She opens and closes with her singature, Safe With Me, and the crowd loved it, and in fact for the duration of this live disk, she truly is the star that she deserves to be."
