Good especially for the Casadesus Concerto....

"Not everything on this CD is of equal interest. I do not particularly like Casadesus' Ravel Jeux d'eau, the tempo is ridiculously fast which results in some hectic and sloppy results. The Debussy Preludes are better, a bit "matter of fact" at times, but technically interesting at least. Casadesus' Flute Sonata is a lovely piece, but I don't agree with the extremely fast tempo of the last movement. The poor flute player can hardly get the notes out! However, I do like this Performance of the Casadesus Piano Concerto better than the later version with Martinon. The strings are much warmer, and there is a sense of occasion to this live radio performance. Sound quality varies, about average for the period. Anyone interested in Casadesus as soloist and composer should respond to this compilation, despite my reservation about individual tracks!"
