"I've got several albums by marc copland and i consider this one, with the eternally awesome acoustic bassist, gary peacock, to be among not only copland's finest, but truly one of the most exciting jazz presentations i've heard in a long time!!

without any percussion support, these two world-class musicians manage to swing their fannies off, often with the time simply implied or felt, while at other times, playing right in the pocket....the interplay between copland and peacock has been deepening with each successive release, and there are times during this incredible sounding album (one of the best recordings i've ever heard!)that the duo plays as one!! on some of the lower tones peacock sounds, your whole body will reverberate, as if listening to the tones of a tibetan lama chanting....exquisite and very powerful...copland is playful and flexible on all the standards, while bringing new thematic elements to each one....the original tunes are, well, original, and there's lots going on sonically between the keyboard excursions and the journeys in all registers of peacock's bass.

if you're not challenged by incredible interplay and two musicians with creative radar (and all the "chops" in the world to express themselves, you couldn't do better than to check this album out....breath and listen....."
