"Throw Lennon and McCartney in with the Heartbreakers, and you would get this Chicago-based band from the late 1980's-early 1990's. With wonderfully subtle songwriting, a solid rock sound and stunning liver performances, they should have been a memorable fixture on the music scene for years to come."Ghost On The Beach" is filled with classic tunes, most notably the stunning lead track, the bittersweet "Love Like Candy" and the churning "Memory Road."On its release, the CD sold about 100,000 copies, got some MTV airplay, and the band was even featured in an otherwise terrible movie soundtrack ("Iron Eagle II"). It seemed as if the Insiders were set.Unfortunately, Epic fired most of the A&R team just as their second album was being recorded, and the band was ultimately dropped by the label. They released several CD's throughout the 90's, including one true classic ("Live At Fitzgerald's").If you love gutsy, melodic rock, but this CD (which is actually available at some other retailers). Then pray that they someday release some of the many unreleased tracks floating around.This was the band that got away."
