"If early-80s kind of dance music is your taste, you must love this Anthology. Just looking at the lineup of musicians involved in the project Inner Life --- Greg Carmichael, Patrick Adams, Leroy Burgess, to name a few --- would make you want to have this in your collection of old school CDs. The first CD consists of most of the tunes from the two Inner Life albums released under Salsoul, while the second has a bunch of quality 12" remix by such legends as John Morales and Shep Pettibone, most from Inner Life, plus a couple original mix of outside projects where Jocelyn Brown was featured. You must love the way the entire Anthology is filled with the color and flavor of early-80s boogie sounds that you can enjoy both in the original mix and very high quality remix. Absolutely no house remix here.



Jocelyn Brown must be one of the most underrated diva of all dance music. Too bad people forgot the music in early-80s so quickly, but now we can re-discover how electronic instruments first changed the whole landscape of dance music."
