Inner City Unit - 'Pass Out' (Old Hitz)

"Originally released in 1980, as this was Inner City Unit's first of (looks like) five actual lp's. Better than '85's 'New Anatomy'(see my review). You've heard of post-rock? What would one call this,post-space rock? Possibly. These tunes are cool to check out, like the two re-works of Hawkwind classics, "Brainstorm" and "Master Of The Universe". Let's not forget the future Hawktune, here. The wailing "Watching The Grass Grow". Other notable tracks are the quirky "Space Invaders", "Cars Eat With Autoface", "Fall Out" and "Nuclear Waste". Line-up: Nik Turner-sax&vocals, Trev Thomas-guitar&vocals, Baz Magneto-bass&vocals, Dead Fred-keyboards and Mick Stupp-drums. A fun time, but I'm glad that Inner City Unit was strictly a 'faze' for Nik."

"Hmmm, first got into this band at Stonehenge festival in 1984, after watching the festivities for a bit we went back to the tent & cranked this, 'Camembert Electric' by Gong & 'In Search Of Space' by Hawkwind till the wee hours...ha ha ha ! What a laugh !
The Maximum Effect is a way better album by ICU, hope that comes out one day, cheers !"
