CD Reviews

This is the reason I don't miss opening bands!

"I showed up way early for a Sister Hazel show in Chicago because I didn't know who was playing, and as luck would have it, Ingram Hill was one of the openers. I have found some pretty good bands that way, and this was no exception.
As one of the other reviews mentions, they do sell their album cheaper ($5 at the Chicago show) at the show, so keep that in mind - since this is only an 8 song album. Is it worth the $10 though? In a word, yes.
The band really reminds me of Gin Blossoms through quite a bit of the disc, especially on the catchy first track "Will I Ever Make It Home". It is a really great up-tempo track, and was the first they played in their set - and really caught my attention.
The band does rely heavily on thier influences, but they still pull off a good first effort. You can almost hear the Black Crowes being cloned in the bluesey "The Day Your Luck Ran Out".
Between the two tracks I mentioned above, and "Almost Perfect", this disc is worth the price of purchase.... but not without its faults.
The album closes with three live tracks - the problem being that the three tracks given here fail to capture the energy they give you on stage. The version of "Chicago" is underdone on the album, and was much more exciting when they played it live.
I can't wait for a follow up, and another Chicago tour stop!"

"This cd is a well recorded studio album. Compared to Ingram Hill's last album, the men have improved a great deal. There lyrics, especially Almost Perfect, is a wonderfully written song. Everyone should hear this cd."
