"What can I say?? This is In Flames, one of the leaders in melodic death metal. This is a band known for its stellar releases such as The Jester Race. With Colony, In Flames stray from their folk-influenced epic atmospheric style of death metal and cover new grounds, but not so much that they have totally changed their sound. I find that the music has more power metal-type influences and there are even a couple of clean singing parts (as opposed to Ander's usual grunts, growls, and screams) and it is a welcome addition to the overall sound. There is not one bad song on the disc. As for the bonus tracks, I reccommend shelling out the extra bucks for this import just for the two bonus tracks. They are Clad In Shadows '99, which is a re-done version of the classic track on their first release, Lunar Strain, and then there is Man Made God, which is stictly an instrumental song, and definitely one of their best. In fact, in my opinion, the two bonus songs are probably the two best songs on the CD. Favorite Tracks - Clad In Shadows '99, Man Made God, Embody The Invisible, Zombie Inc, Resin, ... -heck just look at the track listing to see my favorite songs on this release. :) -Josh"
