"A couple of 1964/65 albums from Curtis Mayfield and company, the trio was at their peak form. "I've Been Trying" is beautiful, the WOO-HOO-00-0 at the end will send chills up the spine (it's also a twin brother of Billy Stewart's "I Do Love You"). They get bluesy for "Sometimes I wonder" and continue the high standards for "Don't Let It Hide." Overall, great stuff."

"These two albums bring back memories of blues light parties and those after school dances. This is Curtis at his best, after Jerry Butler left;the songs make you think back to those days of no worries and the fun that you had. My favorite song is, "Long, Long winter"."
