"If I could only use one word to sum up this album, it would be: SICK. Absolutely grotesque cover art, nauseating lyrics, and a very morbid sense of blackened humour. I was loving every minute, from start to finish! Don't get me wrong, this isn't some shock metal band benching on their gorey elements to get fans...no no, Impaled are so much more than that. Their songs are written intelligently, with very good structures. No song gets old, the band manages to change up the riffs at the right moment, every time. Bottom line: if you like Carcass, Exhumed, or any thrash/death metal for that matter, this album is a MUST."
Sick, brutal, fast, ... with one word IMPALED

"Well, we're talking about IMPALED, whitch means to get planted on pales, so this music is not for chikens!!!
Insane gore/grind band, whitch simply kicks you in your head!!!
The covers are very gory, brutal, etc. This band's music sounds like Carcass or Exhumed, alo very insane band, but Impaled 're 100% the sickest band in metal industry.Lyrics are spooky and whole production is great! it's very fun to listen their music, but this is a band whitch you hate or love it, so many people hate it. I also like changing vocals in the band, as I said before, their music is cool to listening. I also recomend you Chois cuts and Mondo medicale, whitch is banned in 84 countries around the world, now say they 're not brutal!!! Metal fans, you have to get that album, because if you don't have that one, you 're not a metal fan, anithing from them, you won't be disappointment, belive me!"

"Impaled is a relativly newer gore/grind band. They play in the "Reek of Putrefaction"/"Symphonies of Sickness" Carcass style. Impaled is also very similar to Exhumed (a former Exhumed member is actually in the band), but not as brutal. Impaled is brutal and fast, but actually manages to maintain some melody. Impaled's vocals are pretty much high pitched gore screams with an occasional guttural gore grunt. Impaled is probably the best "Carcass-clone" band in the gore scene now. I recommend this cd and their other releases "Choice Cuts" and "Medical Waste.""
Surprisingly good

"I don't normally listen to much "gore metal", and that's why I was a bit unsure on if I should buy this album. But I caught the band live at metalfest and their performance impressed me enough to buy it. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it. Sure, this is some sick and brutal death metal, but I also think it has some qualities that make it stand out from the pack a little. One of them is that these guys seem to have a sense of melody. I was expecting constant blast beats and inhumanly low growls. While that is the case in some parts of the music, others are focused more on heavy and catchy mosh-pit inducing riffs. And while the riffs are still very heavy, they are also technical, playing many notes and adding some harmonics instead of just bashing the same couple of chords really fast. I also like the fact that the guitar solos are melodic. Instead of lighting fast soloing, they slow things down and put a melodic twist on their solos. I also like the the variation in the vocals. There is a deep growler and a more high pitched screamer, except his voice isn't annoyingly high and he doesn't scream his lungs out. His vocals remind me of carcass's vocal style. The only thing I don't really like are the lyrics. I realize that this is gore metal and is supposed to have gory lyrics (and in this case lyrics that have a lot to do with ...), but I just don't prefer this lyrical style. I'm not bashing it, it's just not what I prefer. Even with that little drawback, I still think this is a very good cd. If you like any form of brutal music, I suggest you pick this up. They spice up the standard brutal death metal formula enough to make people who like creative edges in their music find it appealing, but also have enough raw energy and brutality to make fans of straight up gore metal enjoy it. Recommended to anyone interested in extreme metal."
Like Carcass before "Heartwork"!

"One of my personal favorites in the "gore-grind" genre. Unlike some other bands that fit into this category, Impaled is brutal but still remains to be technical, unlike Mortician and Incantation. The album cover is one of the best, next to the likes of Exhumed's "Gore Metal" and Cannibal Corpse's "Eaten Back To Life". Impaled reminds me of early Carcass (except for the excessive lyrics about feces). Overall, this CD contains some great songs like "Back To The Grave", "Flesh And Blood", and "Spirits Of The Dead". It also includes the greatest sample used ever on "Back To The Grave"."
