When it comes to instrumentation, this album is a moveable feast of the trailblazing technology and musical machines of the day such as the Sequential Circuits Pro-1, Prophet V, Yamaha CS-40, Roland TR-808 Drum Machine, Yamaha, SS-30 String Ensemble, ARP Pro-Soloist, Pearl Syncussion, ARP Oddessy, Moog Memory moog, Emu Emulator III, OB-Xa, Simmons SDS-V, Mellotron, Oberheim, DMX drum machine, the infamous Oberheim DSX sequencer and CMI Fairlight. With 19 tracks, elegant digipak packaging featuring extensive historical artifacts, this product is produced with the fan in mind. 2000 words of detailed liner notes coupled with montage of more than 35 photographs and images make for graphic rich short story and engaging companion piece for the music. Third compilation--and still filled with synth wave gems ins

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Considering that "Best of", "Collection version 2.0" and "Collection version 3.0" are the only CDs that currently cover Images in Vogue's musical output, it is astounding how PERFECT it all is. These three volumes are filled with over an hour of standout tracks EACH. If you love artists like Ultravox, Icehouse, Real Life, Gary Numan, A Flock of Seagulls, OMD, and more synth driven dance acts like Erasure, Book of Love, and Men Without Hats, you will love every one of their CDs from start to finish. Synthesizers, drum machines, and new wave guitar blend perfectly with ideally nuanced new wave male vocals and epic melodies.

If you are obsessed with 80s music and never heard of Images in Vogue, or only know their tame synth-ballad "strangers", then you have missed out on some of the best new wave that came out of the 80s. This band should have been HUGE."
