3.5 stars for sheer viciousness!

"The Prestige is album number 8 from Danish death metal masters Illdisposed, whose absolutely fierce brand of death metal is like a more extreme version of Hypocrisy or Carnal Forge.
The Prestige is completely brutal, completely heavy, and has a breakneck pace that all but guarantees a pit will break out. I love extreme metal, but I need more in the way of melody to really get into an album, which is why I love bands like Hypocrisy for example. There is some melodic content here, but it definitely takes a back seat to thrash riffs, rapid fire drumming that's almost a black metal blastbeat, and some of the most evil-sounding death metal vocals you'll ever hear. There's not much in the way of variety here either, just 12 extremely fast, extremely aggressive death metal songs.
If you're looking for something more melodic, or an album that pushes the envelope a bit, this probably isn't the album for you. However, if the latest offerings from In Flames, the Haunted, and Soilwork just haven't been heavy (or extreme) enough for you, you may want to give The Prestige a spin. Illdisposed is still bringing the fierce death metal sound that the Swedish innovators have long since abandoned."
Must buy!

"If you're a true death metal fan, than this album is a must have...very fast drums and overall awesome sound quality! Unlike many albums, the songs don't sound the same. The more I listen to this album, the more I love it!"
Awesome Band, fairly unknown in the US unfortunately......

"In 2008 ILLDISPOSED are back with what they are best at. This time there are no synths, samples or clean vocals. This time it's all about death metal! Really heavy catch riffs with awesome prodution! Definately a great band to check out if your looking for a new heavy death metal band to get into. Vocalist Bo Summer is also in Panzerchrist. The vocal here are the same as there. Check out both bands if you can. Panzerchrist is much faster and more brutal then Illdisposed.
