Glitters, glows and is very moving at times.

"This soundtrack, created by Australia singer/musician/composer Lisa Gerrad and Michard Edwards is very evocative and one of the better original soundtracks I've heard recently. I have been looking forward to seeing Ichi on DVD, however, it hasn't been released in Australia yet. A pity! However, the soundtrack is good and I am listening to it now as I write this review. All who are familiar with Lisa Gerrard's earlier material, and enjoyed it, will be in for a very pleasant surprise.
Ethereal voices, occasionally unaccompanied, features, as well as generous synth-orchestral sounds (as well as acoustic instruments), piano and a hint of Taiko drumming. The music is expressive and dramatic and a little dark, most of the time. I liked it very much.
I still feel that Tan Dun and Joe Hisaishi are the best composers of film music for Chinese and Japanese movies in the business at the moment, but this disc is very worthy.
